DIY Valentines to make with your Kids

I absolutely loved doing school Valentines with my kids. Borderline obsessed! We strived to make them personal, but we never had a ton of time to make them. I counted on our local print shop to do the heavy-lifting and inevitably made the mad-dash to finish them up the night before. Sound familiar???

No need to dread the task of class Valentines. We are here to help! To make this as simple as possible, we put together a quick tutorial and template to make the most memorable and fun Valentines they will love passing out to their friends.

Here's all you need to do:

  • Find a simple, contrasting background.

  • Have your cutie hold their arm out with closed fist, like they are holding an imaginary flower or in the case of my son, act like an arrow is piecing through his brain (I appeal to the ten year old boy audience!) and snap a photo.

Next:

  • Create a photo collage. We have done the hard part for you! Simply click here to open our template. We included both cards so you can pick and choose. Next, upload your photo(s) and drop them into the photo grids. Feel free to edit the greeting and be sure to add your child's name! (Note: the size of each card ends up being approximately 2.5" x 3.25" based on the 3x3 grid.)

  • Send to Staples for print on cardstock - or your local print shop. For a small fee they will even cut these for you!

  • Take a little crafting knife and add 2 slits by the hands (or head) where you want the lollipop to go through

  • Have your child help you assemble!

Voila! You've got an easy, custom card for your kids to spread a little love to friends and family this Valentine's Day.
